It’s time for our final restaurant spotlight in our series from the Top Small Food Town Spotlights. After Evanston was named one of the Top Small Food Towns from the Daily Meal blog, we decided to write a feature on each of the restaurants that the writer mentioned in their post. So far, we’ve discussed Edzo’s Burgers, Al’s Deli, and Bat 17. Now it’s time for us to discuss our final restaurant, Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop.

Dixie’s Kitchen offers up Southern cooking on the opposite side of the Mason Dixon line so that everyone can enjoy the flavors of the deep south. From amazing fried green tomatoes and fried oysters to cheese grits and bread pudding, this is the place to go for amazing comfort food. If you’re a fan of sweet tea it can be hard to find in Evanston, and this is also your stop for that delicious beverage.
